Lauki Koftein Recipe

Kids don’t like eating lauki as a vegetable. However, its often noticed they love to eat it as lauki ke koftein. This is a main course recipe and very easy to cook

  1. Wash, peel & grate bottle guard (lauki).
  2. Rinse the grated lauki and mix gram flour(besan), salt, turmeric, red chilli powder.
  3. Mix it gently with hands and make small balls of this misture.
  4. Put some mustard oil in a frying pan and deep fry these balls of lauki.
  5. Once it turns golden brown, take it out and put it on tissue paper, so the tissues soaks excess oil.
  6. Heat 1 table spoon oil in frying pan. Put red chilli, cumin seeds(jeera) and onion and fry till onion turns brown.
  7. Put chopped tomato, ginger garlic paste into it and fry for 2 minutes. Add coriander powder, red chilli poweder, turmeric, garam masala and salt and fry till spices get well cookked.
  8. Add 1 glass of water & add the lauki balls to this mixture and cook it on slow sim for 5 minutes.
  9. Garnish the recipe with fresh coriander leaves.
