9 inch double pie crust

all purpose flour
4 cup
red seedless grapes
1 cup
granulated sugar

Brown sugar
3 tbsp
Butter

Honey

1 1/2 cup

Grape Pie Recipe

We can have this pie with a scoop of softened French vanilla ice cream.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and place a sheet pack on the lower oven rack.
  2. Unroll 1 pastry crust on the work surface and sprinkle both sides lightly with flour. Place the crust in an ungreased 9 inch deep- dish pie plate. Press it firmly again sides and bottom.
  3. Now we need to wash and stem the grapes and remove the skins from the grapes. Save the skins and keep them aside. Now we need to place the grape pulp in a large saucepan and mash a few onto the bottom of the saucepan to release their juice.
  4. Cook over low-medium heat until the grape mixture comes to a boil. Now remove pulp from heat, and press the grape mixture through a food mill to remove the seeds.
  5. Combine the pulp and grape skin in a large bowl and stir with lemon juice.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix sugar, flour and salt along with the topping ingredients. Stir them into the grape mixture.
  7. Pour the filling into the pastry crust, and dot it with butter. Cover it with second pastry shell.
  8. Flute the edges and cut little slits in the top of the crust to let the steam escape.
  9. In a preheated oven on sheet pan for 40-45 minutes, place the crust till the crust is brown and juice begins to bubble through slits in top crust.
  10. Allow the pie to cool before serving.
