Ghila Pitha Recipe

It is a very popular dish of Assam prepared during the festival Bihu.

  1. Firstly we need to add jaggery to a cup of water and then to simply mix it well.
  2. Let the mixture stand for some time.
  3. Now add the rice flour to the jaggery water.
  4. Knead the rice flour dough till it becomes smooth.
  5. After the dough has been kneaded properly, keep it aside for about 10 minutes.
  6. Now separate the dough into equal parts and make balls of those equally divided parts.
  7. Flatten the balls into half-inch thick rounds.
  8. Last step is to finally fry the rounds on medium flame till they are brown on both sides.
